As a kid, I grew to enjoy japanese sports cars and learning about specifications and differences. I love the 90's jdm cars since it was such an impactful decade where they shined over american cars in terms of speed, agility, and pricing. The moment Gran Turismo 4 came out for ps2, I went out and bought it. I had already had a thing for STi's and most mainstream jdm cars. For some reason, the 04 STi Spec C just clicked with me driving wise and tuning for they way I liked to race in the game. There was even a quarter mile section of the game which was probably the only game that had an actual 1/4 mile time. I actually had got my sti spec c (with NOS, of course) below 7 seconds, fully spec'd out. I though to myself, "this was just a game, but this is crazy for a sports production car to be this fast!". Ever since then, my dream car was to own my very own STi. To me, it was the most practical production sports car.
The first car I bought for myself was a 2000 Honda S2000. I think this car probably has one of the best steering and transmission feeling out of all the cars I've driven. Along down the road, I found myself purchasing a bugeye wagon. I never though I'd get a bugeye, since I never really prefered the look and already like the look of the blob eye spec c. I gotta say, the bugeye look really grew on me. I took a lot of time and effort to go through all sorts of information and faq's to get the best information for properly modifying the wrx. I've gotten as far as disassemblying the engine and having it rebuilt by a known shop that used to be in charlotte, nc. I'm sure anyone who has work done by them knows why they're no longer around. I got pretty efficient pulling the ej205 from fixing issues from either myself or the previous owner(s). Even though the bugeye was short lived with a huge waste of money, I gained a lot of experience from what not to do.
Since the intro of the STi hatch in 2008, I really liked how the car looked even though it seems like a lot of people really didn't like it. I guess I'd say the same about the 2022 wrx looking like straight booty and getting myself an older STi.
After an unfortunate event (wife's car totalled), I'm now a proud owner of my 2010 STi special edition WRB!
