2019 Subaru WRX STi - 3rd Gear Issues

So "track" here is a drag strip? But it wont misbehave in a WOT run up in 2nd on the street?

Seibon carbon fiber wing with subispeed wing stabilizers

Two things: 1) Carbon is super stiff. The wing shouldn't need stabilizers as compared to stock 2) Contact Seibon to see if their wing matches the original wing profile. You can even ask them the stabilizer question directly. They should know if theirs is an exact match or not. If its not...

Wow that's a shockingly poor match on the mating surfaces!

    2006 Sti Transmission/shifter problem

I think you're on the right track. Don't disassemble more than you have to yet. It could be something like an obstruction, piece put in backwards, etc... causing your issues.

    Welcome, Grocery Getter

Yes, the necking to 2.5" is there to connect to a factory 2.5" cat-back exhaust. But if you're doing a full 3" exhaust its an necessary restriction. It's like upgrading to a milkshake straw, but putting a regular straw section in it. I As for build/journal--make it your own. Most people put...

    Welcome, Grocery Getter

Start up a build journal, you'll likely get more responses in there! As for downpipe, make sure it's a full 3" (not Cobb) that necks down to 2.5". And if you're thinking of going EWG later you can get one that has the built in, along with an o2 port for a wideband sensor. The O2 port is easy...

Oh yeah, did you do a before/after weighing of your coolant pipe?

    05 STI BUILD

Remind me again why you didn't want phenolic spacers at least in addition? Aluminum is an incredibly good heat conductor. So right now it'll help carry block heat into the IM, which undoes some good work from the IC. If you add even a thin phenolic spacer it should interrupt some of that heat...

That was the pickup I had, good stuff!

    05 STI BUILD

*disclaimer* this is second hand knowledge, but I've passed it along willingly as it was from a guru from a while back... Wrap that coolant pipe in the last picture, the one that goes diagonally across the engine, starting under the turbo inlet. Once everything is up to temp, it just keeps...

06 and above sti oil pan upgrade for 05 and below WRX.

I didn't realize there was a difference in the oil pans! Either that's not well talked about (including on our differences thread?), or I just glossed over it because it seemed trivial. I'll go to your journal next, but did you do anything like a new pickup or baffles in there while you had it...

    Wheel spacers

Well, what are you thinking? I have lots of thoughts! First: Go thin or very thick...no in the middle. There's a window where they don't really "work". By that I mean: With thin spacers (a few mm), your wheels are still "hub-centric" and sit on a slightly smaller lip of the hubs. With...

I did CF trunk paint matched to body ...twice actually! Second one came with an APR wing that I also had matched. You would not believe how heavy that stock wing/trunk combo is! For bracing, you could do the Home Depot racing chassis bridge. I dont think i have the how-to anymore, but it's...

    05 STI BUILD

You gotta update your first post with accurate pics/links! I had to scroll back to remind myself. Why did you finally decide to remove the U brace, given a few years ago you were against it? What's the verdict on the fender cowl braces? If you're looking for more weight loss, would you...
