    turbo rebuild

I'd go with a bigger turbo unless you are heavily into high level competition autocross or some race series where a larger sized turbo raises minimum weight etc etc. Just my 2 cents though

    Subaru Powertrain Warranty Review

Total Money Cost to me: $0 Total Time cost: ~4 hours (including driving time to and fro) Total Gas Cost: ~ 6 gallons of 93 Yes Holy, while I had my suspicions I thought everything was good to go and we'd be ready to roll! However, I always told myself if I tuned before warranty was up I'd...

    turbo rebuild

Here's a nifty trick for gauging power output. On our cars it tends to be about 10bhp per lb a minute of flow from the turbo on 93. 40 lb per min turbo * 10bhp per lb = ~400bhp on 93

Custom Rally WRC Inspired Exhaust for sale!

Interesting, do WRC cars really run their exhaust this way??? The rally america Subarus route it above the rear axle (for more ground clearance im guessing) from 2008-2012 :)

Info on buying a used STi

Close to the same buying process as a VW, except the following you do NOT have to do: -Check all electrical circuits front to back -Make sure interior doesnt smell like a crayon -Make sure it's not bagged -Make sure it's not herrafrush (this can still happen to subies but not nearly as often)...

    Subaru Powertrain Warranty Review

My guess is they did the compression wet already long ago to no avail, because that's what i expected actually on the first go around "compression is fine, now pay us". Really the dealership is screwing themselves as i've put 6k miles on their loaners.....ROAD TRIP!!!

    Subaru Powertrain Warranty Review

Yea, or they did the work, checked the compression and it was the same, cause I had these calls early to mid last week and havent heard shit yet. I was also under the assumption that if machine work was involved they just replaced with new generally. Regardless I'm not taking the car back...

    Subaru Powertrain Warranty Review

Update: Does not seem loss of compression was due to anything in the shortblock. Service advisor called me and said "a valve needed to be tightened and theyre fixing it up good as new and id have it back soon". I wasn't exactly sure what tightening a valve meant and when I pressed for details...

    Smoking on start up.

As others have stated, if the smoke is blue its burning oil and a bad sign. Get a compression check done if you're super nervous, mine would spit a little blue out on startup if i hadnt driven in a week+. Mine ended up having bad compression in cyl 3 (for a unknown reason, but speculation is...
