BRZ, FRS, GT-86 To Be Discontinued After 2014 Production

Today a leak came from multiple sources saying that the beloved ?twins? production will come to a halt after this year. Subaru said they have done nothing but lose money since they joined with Toyota, and is more interested in focusing on it?s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive systems. Subaru says switching to a rear-wheel drive platform was a mistake, and that 89% of BRZ owners though they were buying an All Wheel Drive car until they couldn?t get out of an inch of snow.

This is certainly sad news for everyone in the car community, and even more so for the enthusiasts who were holding out for the BRZ STi, or a Turbocharged FRS. It looks like that day will never come.

Scion says they enjoyed working with Subaru, but after all the accidents from minors, they?re going back to the drawing board in order to reduce accidents for drivers under the age of 22, and designing something ?less enjoyable.?

RIP Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS, Toyota GT86.

Idiots! This isn't a car for a 20 year old. This is a car for a driver! Well, you better get your hands on one as soon as possible cause this will definitely be a rare, if not a collector's car, in the future! I have been keeping track of these cars and they are phenomenal cars!*

*If you know how to properly drive it!

That's one way to kill an amazing car!

-Also, plenty of people have driven BRZ's in the past winters with winter tires on and they have ZERO issues. It's the dumbasses that had the car that ruined it for everyone else. Let's be real now, how many do you think went "drifting" in the snow?

A lot of niche cars are doomed from conception for short lifespans. Who knows? Time will tell but honestly, I wouldn't be too terribly upset with its demise. They just never tickled my fancy.

This was an old April Fools joke, but we wanted to get traffic on igotasubaru.com going.

It worked. :)

Keep this up and you'll start receiving lawsuits for heart attacks!

LOL well I'm glad that its a joke and it worked for getting traffic to the forum.

I hope subaru actually makes a turbo or supercharged BRZ soon. I'd consider one of they did even though the factory 5 818 is a much better bang for your buck at the moment for a person that knows how to turn a wrench.
