Specific location gauge install

How does one install a gauge in the vent like in the picture above? I don't even know how that vent comes out.

I installed mine there. I just cut material away little by little and then used a file to smooth out the high spots, its a nice tight fit.

I tried to see if my 52mm gauge fits and it is small. I am assuming only a 60 fits there.

I've seen people install 60mm's in them usually. One person removed part of the dash to get the vent out, but most seem to just pull the vent out.
