Imo, its better due to the heatsoak that the TMIC gets smothered with, however in return you create turbo lag especially in stock conditions. So bigger turbo to push the air though all the added piping n stuff could warrant the FMIC worth while. I'm no expert on this subject but this is from what I gather from basic knowledge between the two.
I personally like the TMIC, just wrap it up in gold wrap and add a turbo blanket to reduce that heatsoak to the TMIC. Which is what I have planned.
