My first check engine light!

Bound to happen, it is an sti after all. Driving home, all of a sudden... boom engine light. Bought a code reader, good to have anyway. This is what I got. Got an appointment booked for the 25th with my Subaru specialist. He said it?s probably a dead valve. Looks like she?s sitting for a bit. Shame, just got the exhaust on too.

Woah, what occurred before and during the moment when the engine light came on?

Could just be the sensor. I'm not sure how hard it would be to swap sensors from bank-to-bank and see if it stays consistent or not, but might be worth a shot. I'd definitely check for loose wiring though before spending some dough!

Ok some VERY quick googling led me to that it very well could be something amiss with the blue clips related to the sensor. I'd unplug it and see if there's anything obvious (like loose connection, dirt, bent pins, etc...)

Not my pic:

P2088 Camshaft Position Actuator Control... ?

Okay, I'll look around a bit and see what I can find. In the meantime, take Grinder's advice.
