Fuel additives/octane booster

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone runs octane booster or fuel additives? If pre ignition/detonation is the engines enemy from the factory. Couldn't we help prevent it with higher octane?

Torco is the only stuff that I've found that works. Most of that stuff that you buy from the stores only raises octane points and not octane numbers. Ex: tank of 93 gas + stp octane booster = 93.3 RON.
Other than that, there are home brews made from toluene or xylene that are effective.

Get a good safe tune. Probably better than throwing products at it in an effort to bandaid a sketchy factory tune.

Methanol injection is an option but there's always a chance that the system could fail. It'd be reallllly bad for your engine if it failed while on full boost. Either way, that definitely increases octane.
Check out toluene and/or xylene like Spamby said.
