...and you guys wonder why I took the wing off!!!

?Cars don?t get tickets, drivers do ? but those drivers like the WRX,? Insurance.com Managing Editor Des Toups noted in a statement about the study.

Here are the top 20 vehicles that get the most tickets:

1. Subaru WRX ? 33.6%
2. Pontiac GTO ? 32.7%
3. Scion FR-S ? 32.6%
4. Toyota Supra ? 30.8%
5. Subaru Tribeca ? 29.7%
6. Volkswagen Rabbit ? 29.6%
7. Mercury Topaz ? 28.8%
8. Scion tC ? 28.8%
9. Toyota FJ Cruiser ? 28.4%
10. Mazda2 ? 28.1%
11. Hyundai Veloster ? 28.1%
12. Volkswagen GTI ? 28.1%
13. Suzuki Reno ? 28.1%
14. Scion xA ? 27.8%
15. Pontiac G8 ? 27.7%
16. MINI Cooper S Countryman ? 27.5%
17. Mitsubishi 3000 GT ? 27.4%
18. Saturn Aura ? 27.1%
19. Infiniti QX56/QX80 ? 27.1%
20. Toyota Prius C ? 27.0%

Take note, all you heavy-footed speed lovers.

Getting a speeding ticket totally sucks, whether justified or not. But does the exact make and model of the car you drive increase or decrease your chances of getting pulled over? Or is just your right foot causing all the trouble? Well, it?s likely a bit of both. According to a new survey conducted by Insurance.com, the most ticketed car in the US is the Subaru WRX. 33.6% of owners surveyed acknowledged they recently received a speeding ticket. Interestingly, the second car on this list is the long discontinued Pontiac GTO, with 32.7% of owners receiving tickets.

Personally, I think this study is terrible, inaccurate and ambiguous. But I thought you guys might be interested to see what they said.

One example... The Prius made the list, but not the Mustang. What do you think the age and driving style of a Prius driver is vs. a Mustang driver. Then ask yourself, are there more Mustangs or Prius on the road? I don't know how they came up with these stats.

I can see it. Most of the cars on the list are attractive to younger more aggressive drivers. Though, it is funny how mustangs and camaros, etc aren't on there, just as bat said.
As for the Prius, I always see them going 20 over or 20 under the speed limit.

Well imagine if you have one of us maniacs behind the wheel of a prius!

I agree with spamby on the driving style of prius owners. It's. Either way slow or way fast. But The majority of people I see in my area driving mustangs are baby boomers and usually slow to right at speed limit. So I would expect to see prius higher up

Yeah, I drove a shiny red Camaro for 10 years...I'd regularly get a police escort wherever I was going and tickets were at *least* an annual event. I'll never own a red car again for that reason. On a side note, I'm surprised the 3000GT is still on that list--I almost never see those any more.
