Sorry, that's my fault...I didn't notice the post date and just had to pontificate!

So... in the same way that the thread was Necro'd... where are these 5 commissioned chopped STIs now? Have they been spotted in the wild?

STill Plays With Toys!
so i am going to play the other card here... why is this such a bad car? ok its not the best looking STi there is but i think its an awesome piece of art and workmanship (provided it was done correctly)

you have to remember that soft top would have to be custom made. there isnt just a part number to bolt on there and making sure the lines match up and the cuts were made at the right spots. again IF IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY i think this thing is awesome.

There are a lot of things, that when done well, are still shitty.

1 The torsional rigidty is shot. Convertibles, designed from the factory, have significant stiffening vs their hardtop counterparts to help with stiffness. It'll twist and flex like crazy if pushed. If pushed often, the cycling could cause fame failure.

2 The wing is now useless with the top down due to the turbulent airflow. With the top up it's likely much less effective as I doubt any CFD was done to the top to allow similar flow characteristics.

3 It's ugly (personal opinion)
