First thing I bought was an Access Port b/c it was running extremely rich. That fixed that problem and made it feel like an entire different car with OTS Stage 2 tune!

Bought an 7" Panasonic In Dash DVD player
PICT0002.jpg

Put a new magnaflow muffler on b/c I hated that dual tip one
IMG_0733-1.jpg

Got some 17" MB weapon wheels wrapped in 235/45 Falken FK452 that were suppose to be gunmetal but kinda had a blue tint to them. Also bought an STi scoop and put 35% tint on the windows, 20% on the back and 5% strip across the front.
P4120015.jpg

Debadged the front grille so the entire car is now debadged.

Also couldnt get a bolt off the rear trailing arm brackets so i havent put the forester ones on yet and the clearance is tight. They will move the rear tire back about a 1/2" to center the rear wheel more in the fender.

UR Rally Armor Mud Flaps came in:

I ordered:
VF48
STi TMIC
DW 750cc injectors (Cobb Spec)
Walbro 255 with install kit.
Grimspeed gaskets for the turbo
OEM BPV Gasket
Perrin Turbo Inlet v2

Here is all the parts

Got my last part installed today before I get tuned!
Grimmspeed Uppipe with flex. Awesome piece and very good quality!
IMAG0848.jpg

IMAG0849.jpg

Went and got tuned at 19 PSI it made 263whp & 241wtq. The dyno reads low so with his correction factor the car made 299whp & 275wtq. The car is running great! I would recommend Nate @ TPG Tuning to anyone. Same goes for Jason @ J&S Dyno but he has Nate do his AccesPort Tunes.

Installed a Grimmspeed AOS the other day

Maintenace time! Timing belt kit, new pads and sway bar kit!

Stoptech Street Performance Rear Brake Pads

Eibach Sway Bar Kit Front 22mm / Rear Adjustable 22mm

My friend Zach and I took the forester suspension off, put the dspecs with epic springs on, replaced the trailing arm brackets, swapped wheels, put sideskirts and sti splitters on in under 4 hours today. Took it for a test drive and was a blast. First time its been lowered since my turbo upgrade.

The STi is completely stripped besides the dash, IC water tank and wiring. Going to leave the wiring on the STi until we are ready to put it in my wrx. Tomorrow going to start stripping the WRX. Took a lot of reference pics but I'm not going to post them all.

STi rear end is in the WRX and got some other parts off. Tomorrow the wrx motor and trans is coming out.

DSC_0051.jpg

Day 5
Got the dash and wiring out of both cars. Got the STi wiring started as well. Put the inlet on the STi motor which was a PITA compared to a wrx motor b/c there is a lot more shit in the way, Grimmspeed AOS and catch can also installed and did some other stuff as well but mostly worked on wiring.

Also first time I removed the drain bolt on the catch can and it was bone dry. So the AOS does its job and the rumors about it letting oil through is a lie IMO. There was absolutely no sign of any oil ever being in there.

^sanded and painted above the hood latch b/c there was a little bit of rust that you could see even with the radiator cover on. Only other place was on the bumper beam behind the styrofoam which I'm going to take care of tomorrow.

DSC_0125.jpg

Day 6

Today we only worked on it for 3 hours. Got the drive by wire gas pedal installed, worked on the wiring some more, took care of some rust on the front bumper beam, took apart some wrx parts and hauled them back home.

Day 7

Motor, Trans, TBE, 1 front brake, 1 wheel, control arms with new anti lift kit and some other things. We are shooting for Wednesday to fire it up!

Engine is complete besides front O2 sensor needs swapped and TMIC needs installed.
Wideband, boost, oil pressure, exhaust temperature sender units all installed.
Brakes are done except one line b/c need a washer. I took one off the wrx brakes this evening so that might work we will see.
Heater box is installed.
Ran wires for sound system.
Going to finish wiring tomorrow and put the dash and interior back in. If we get that all done we are going to fire up the motor for the first time since I got it.

Got the day off work tomorrow so I can go help get the rest done. Since we might be getting it drive-able I had to work on my headlights....

Driver side STi headlight was destroyed in the wreck so I bought another broke set but the dside was suppose to be fine. The bezel was cracked and the guy tried to clear it which he obviously had no idea what he was doing. I sold my wrx lights to 03suby and he gave me a RS light to use for parts. Thanks Larry!

Left to right: Good STi, RS & Bad STi

Since I had to bake them apart decided to clear them and paint the bezels and side markers.

IMG_20121010_010016.jpg

IMG_20121010_010020.jpg

The RS lens was faded and scratched up some but nothing I can't fix. Wet sanded the RS light with 1000 then 2000 grit. The STi only got 2000 grit.

I still have to buff them which I will do after I get them mounted on the car then they will look like new.

sound is echo'd bc all the garage doors were shut.

It's all done except for some little things. Drove it about 70 miles so far and its a completely different car. No boost lag, way lower, sticks to the ground, louder/deeper tone, love the dccd and the 6 speed.

Whats left to do:
Fog light switch
Intercooler sprayer not working probably got damaged in the wreck
Bypass the immobilizer for remote start
Wire the power mirrors and mount the switch in the door
Might need a new front axle
Whiteline ball joint in the mail b/c one got damaged but running an oem one for now

Got those RE11s off the wheels today and the hoosier slicks mounted for autoX.

Finally got the car cleaned up and took a couple pics with the black BBS wheels.

Installed the 850 DWs finally!

Best dyno run was 351wtq & 313whp @ 22psi!

This is a mustang dyno so it reads low about 15% is what they have figured it out to be.
So after that correction factor: 404wtq & 360whp.

Before the 850s and on my old tune that came with the STi it dyno'd: 273wtq & 258whp @ 21psi (78 more wtq and 55 more hp now)
With that corrected it was 314wtq & 297whp (90 more wtq & 63 more whp now)

I'm really happy with the numbers and how the car is running! But I wish jerry dove exxon still had e85. Nate said if we would of tuned it on e85 I would add about 20% to those number. So for now I'll pray that WV gets some more e85 pumps or maybe ill just add some meth.

Thanks! It was a blast just sucked not having a car for 12 days but was so worth it! Learned so much about these cars taking 2 apart and putting 1 back together! If anyone has any questions just ask!

Omg those look nasty. How much?!?!

Thanks man! Got them on trade for some other parts. They will be getting painted once I pull them off to put my summer suspension and wheels back on. I don't like the center caps but think if I paint them them they will look much better. Just listed my BBS wheels for sale since I have these I no longer need that set.

Alin

Diehard Car Enthusiast!
Nice score then!!!! What color you gonna paint them?

Ya for sure! I wasn't sure if they were going to fit in the rear being wider and taller but the offset was right. As you can see in the last pic they clear just fine. I dunno what color yet.

Minor update that I did before boxerfest. Plastidipped the center caps black. I think it makes the wheels look much better being one solid color.

I have some parts that I need to install but I have been working on stripping the 06 STi to part out which is taking all my free time right now.

Once I get some time to work on my own car I got a new wideband, cusco master cylinder brace and a turbo blanket to install. Also need to decide to sale or keep the motons bc I need to put my summer setup back on!

Finally got time to work on my car!
