So it's NOT a thing covered by warranty?

I was the second owner and thus didn't have a warranty of any kind. You might get lucky. I did not.

So am I. But I bought it from a dealership and had like 14 months factory left plus I bought extended powertrain coverage for 2 years.
Let's see if these cock ls try to fuck me

You never know, the DCCD is full of sensors, it may be something relatively simple and electrical in nature.

Well. Took it to dealer this morning. I was under the car with the tech. We found that the right rear axle was half out the diff.
So now waiting to see if they are gonna cover it warranty.

Holy cow!

Don't see why they wouldn't. Not like you went under there and pulled the axel out. That should totally be under warranty as manufacturers defect.

Exactly, if it were something from too much power or running it too hard it would break the internal gears or the case not push the half shaft partly out. To be honest I am suppressed it didn't lock up on you and cause a serious accident due to lack of fluid escaping from the axel being half out.

Best of luck I had an extended warranty on my abused sti that the dealership voided because I was doing my own oil changes. At least I got a new turbo and up pipe out if the extended warranty before they voided it when I took it back for high oil consumption.

No idea. They didn't even ask me anything.
I honestly don't beat on the car like that. Spoke to a few friends. They said it's not completely uncommon :/

That's what they said. Idk.
I was shocked to hear/see it myself.
Car should be ready next week

Well good news is that it will be fixed under warranty.

That's definitely uncommon, but congrats on a factory refresh of the rear end! That probably renews some warranty thresholds too, so....
