Its getting hot in Cali...had to get the hood vents lol

I have a turbo blanket but what else can i do to reduce engine bay heat soaking? Does that golden reflective tape really makes a noticeable difference?

First of all, car looks killer, dude!

Little bits here and there add up and can make a difference.

-DEI gold tape on the TMIC
-DEI gold tape on the air intake pipe (if metal) and the box (assuming you have one)
-blanket on the turbo
-heat shield over the turbo blanket
-DEI titanium heat wrap the downpipe
-downpipe blanket (might be overkill and kind of expensive)
-ceramic coat the headers and uppipe (if not stock)
-DEI titanium heat wrap the headers and uppipe (if not stock)

This is all that I've seen from my experience. Other than that, it's just getting adequate airflow by driving. Someone else should be able to chime in and add to the list! Killer hood!

Everything alin said, and to build on it:

I never did it personally, as I never had the intake manifold off. But legend has it there's a coolant pipe that runs right under it (http://i.imgur.com/ngWLGGP.jpg?2). Wrapping that should help contain some heat soak.

You can also get a heat chimney integrated with a heat shield, to direct heat up and out.

Radiator guards can help channel air through, vs around the radiator (http://perrinperformance.com/images/M143743641)

Of course there's always more drastic solutions such as FMIC and/or AWIC.

You can get some sort of cryo2 system for on-demand cooling if you dont already have an intercooler sprayer.

If you do have an intercooler sprayer, there are many different options for automating the spraying so you don't forget to do it.

I never did the DEI heat tape, but people have reported good results. A few years back when i did my research (I now forget most of it), I concluded that this (link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003HKRFB2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) was the stuff I wanted. I thought it would have better heat rejection and at higher temps than the DEI stuff. Plus I didn't want gold. But that CS Hyde stuff comes in a bunch of colors.

I think Alin and Grinder pretty much covered it. But keep in mind (especially with a TMIC) that you should still take it easy when leaving a stop light or any other situation where the car is running but sitting still for a while. Once you've gone down the road a bit and had good airflow over the IC, then you can go WOT. Otherwise, your intake charge temp will be higher than usual and you could have some knock at WOT.
