Mid Engine Corvair With Subaru Motor.

I've been curious about the concept of making a mid engine subaru powered corvair.

Since there's companies that make kits where you can use the wrx 5 speed in to a two drive transaxle this is a plausible concept. (Factory 5 and this link make kits for the transaxle conversion)

And of course a pic of a pimp corvair.

So what do you gear heads think of this.

There was a guy on NASIOC that swapped an EJ into his '68 Porsche 912. Last I new it ran and he was autocrossing it.

I'd love to do this to a VW bus, but I never even considered a Corvair. The one in the picture you posted is my favorite body style.

Corvairs are one of the last affordable american classic cars (can't call them muscle cars even though the stinger was the first Yenko lol) the only issue is the damn motor spins counter clock wise preventing just dropping a motor from other normal cars in to the rear of the corvair hence why I would do a mid engine.
