He's finally getting scored today after work!

The looks I get from people on the highway when I go past with a deer in the front seat are quite entertaining.

It scored high enough to be entered into the Commemorative Bucks of Michigan records!

Anyone having any luck so far this deer season?

All I've seen is assholes with dogs running off all the deer. I saw 9 people, 4 dogs and 1 horse on Friday. **** OFF, it's deer season! Plus, how many of those 9 people do you think were wearing orange?

The state land I hunt on is off limits for hunting/shooting from April 15th to September 15th, but when deer season comes along, these assclowns are out there before the sun comes up, screwing up everyone's hunt. I'm nearing the limit of my tolerance for this shit.

Prepping a deer heart for the frying pan.
Eventually I'll slice it up thinner, pound it out flat with a meat tenderizing mallet and cook it. Not sure which recipe I want to use yet. There's so many great options.

Worst drag of my life. It was at least 750 yards, with the first 1/3 being uphill out of a swampy ravine. The lack of snow made it even worse. 3 days later and I'm still feeling it.

No luck yesterday, on the season opener of Spring Turkey. My hunting buddy (in a different location) shot a nice gobbler around 7:30am. By the time I got over towards him, the rest of the flock had moved off the property. Going to try again tomorrow or another day this week.

Muskie fishing on Lake St. Clair.

Three fish landed today: 50", 55" and 44".

Am I the only one around here that hunts? I don't think Boosted Bowhunter has been on in years. I would think Boogieman98 Eagleye and a couple others probably hunt and fish. Anyone?

Yeah I haven't been doing much of either lately but my son has shown some interest in fishing so we will probably start that soon. Hunting will be a ways off probably.

How old is he?

I don't know if it's still the same way now, but when I was a kid, you had to be 12 to hunt in Pennsylvania. But even then, you can take him out in the woods pre-season during scouting. I am looking forward to when my son is old enough. He'll be there in no time. If he can stay somewhat quiet, we'll start going out next fall (he's ~16 months now).

Your brain is such a sponge at that age, it'll be good to start teaching him all the different kind of trees and so forth.

I have been fishing and hunting in the past. Most likely poor experiences on both accounts, but I've never been super interested in either. I hope the hunting part changes in the next decade as I continue to mature.

The only thing I fish and hunt for are... deals!
