Some Past Hot Whips I've Owned.

Hahahahaha I was about to say, I think Alin will kill for my FD, or pretty much do anything it takes short of selling his body to live testing and medical experiments or a colony of French homosexual nudists for "fun time"

Just thought I'd drop in quick on this thread... this was the car I traded in to get the STi. Great car, modded a bit, sounded great. But some QC issues I just couldn't ignore.

This one with my 2010 Speed Triple SE...

Specs and info nao!

I'm still learning its history through a middle man that knew the original owner, apprantly he isn't talking. Which is ok I guess but kinda sucks and has made me a bit weary...

But so far I've learned he's been a one owner till now. Garage kept most of the time, 63k miles. Had sat quite a bit for the last 6-7 yrs due to original owners age and having difficulty getting in and out of it.

Needs driver seat reupholstered or replaced and the rear carpet for a model without the Bose Wave system (because it's missing and sound like poo any way so I dont want it), and the head light covers painted. Story on them was they blew off going down road one day.

Motor: is good thank god, because he has been previously molested. Has 99 spec turbos, non sequential setup, cold air intake box setup, after market intercooler, air separator, 2mm 2pc steel apex seals, racing beat full exhaust, apexi power fc and controller, greddy boost controller, 550/1600 injectors, stock porting so I've been told. Some of this stuff I won't know to be true on the car till it, A. needs a rebuild or B. just needs a refresh.

Right now he is sitting at Eccentric Performance with my rotary guru Steve. He's been going through him with a fine tooth comb. He took off the intake manifold and found a cluster of mess as he suspected but he has it straightened out and vacuum lines put where they're supposed to be or hooked up correctly and he says its running like a dream now it has a slight hesitation around 3500 rpm and that's due to the tune being improper for the grumpy cars setup, its just dumping way too much fuel in it so he's working on that today and I hope to get a call by lunch time that he's done I can go pick it back up. He was having some boosting issues when I picked him up and just running funny so off the Grumpy car went for aide. Lol

It must feel good to fit inside that beauty. :(

So update on the FD. Got him back today and he is running like a champ! Steve was able to work out the bugs in his tune. He is running smooth for a rotary motor lol and not drowning himself out any more. But we suspect his smoking on initial start up and under boost is oil blowing by the turbo seals... no beano :-( But I have a choice to make now. I can the stock twins back on it for around 200-250 bucks or go with a larger single turbo but that will be more costly and require some exhaust work and such. But the Grumpy car is good for the moment just going to smoke a lil here and there till a decision is made. Other than that he may need a new clutch soon. Thats not a huge deal. Over all I think Ive came out good and relatively unscathed. Now its decision time.........
