Tell us more about the rx7, wrx, and sti!

Well I acquired the Rx7 back when I was 19-20 yrs. I loved that car, some days I still wish I had it to tool around on but alas it was becoming a money pit at the time for me. Lost my lic. in it twice! That was expensive! LOL So I sold it back to the fella I got it from. I do believe it is still in town which is rad. But I've not seen it out and about which could be a bad sign. It had upgraded steel apex seals installed on the first refresh I had done on it, she had a street port, a Greddy engine management system, cold air intake cant remember for my life which one it was, 3 inch exhaust all the way to its rear lawd it was obnoxiously loud, a HKS BOV. I never had her numbers dynoed so I have no clue but I would have guessed she was about 300hp give or take to the wheels.
I popped some apex seals about 6 mos before I sold it off racing a bottled RSX one night. I won!!! Win or die trying! LOL But then she just gave out and I remember a good friend of mine having to drag my car with his jeep around and around in circles till finally there was enough compression to start it and I didn't let out of the gas all the way home. By the time I reached my dads house my turbo was bright orange! LOL I had a lot of good times and fond memories with that car. It was the one that lead me down the path with cars that I still continue to travel today. I had it rebuilt after that... again. I swear I could just about tear apart a rotary motor and rebuild it myself lol. After the rebuild common parts to fix things that were breaking on the car due to its age were becoming hard to find and expensive so I let her go. :-( She went to a NOPI show with me once, that was fun and I was the only girl there with an RX7 even though there was nothing super about her at the time. She has sparked my desire to own a beautiful FD3S one day though. (3rd gen rx7)

The 08 WRX I traded my 02 Toyota Celica GTS in for. (I'll have to find my pics of it) The fella I had started dating back then owned a 06 WRB WRX that I thought was awesome. So I in turn wanted a WRX as well and I opted for the 08. But they did something weird on the 08 WRXs, a hand full of them had less then the normal HP which set me off! I was so mad that no one advised me of this at time of buying!!! I would of waited for one of the others so I lost my love for it quick and never did a thing to it other then the rear bumper cover, side skirts, and front lip and tinted its windows. Kept if for a year and went balls in for my 08 STi!!!! I said to heck with WRX next one I get will be the big daddy! LOL So I got my 08 STi and was a super proud momma. I had that car for less then a year and had a guy pull out in front of me on my then 08 GSXR 600 and sent me for a wild ride! I am lucky to be alive and lucky to be fully functioning! I hit him head on, there just was no time to react at all. Seeing that I live in such the friendly state of NC ( insert sarcasm) with our stupid out dated ins laws I had to file the wreck on my ins even though this man pulled out in front of me! So my ins. sky rocketed on my STi and at that time I just couldn't afford it anymore so I traded out into a 10 mazda3 :-( I was devastated and cried all the way home from SC in that stupid 167 hp lame mazda3. had to get away from the turbo cars for ins reasons for a few years. I never even got the chance to put one single performance anything on my 08 STi. But in the end it all worked out I suppose. I traded the mazda3 for the SLK 350 once my ins went down and don't get me wrong that car was super nice MERCEDES! LOL But it just didn't feel like a 300 HP car should of felt like at all! Not to mention I couldnt find hardly anything I could tool around on with the car. It was just a lil to lux for me I guess so I sold it and now have my 13 STi and couldn't be happier!

Lawd you have no idea! This is just a few of them. Bahahaha The ones I figure folks would actually like to hear of at least LOL.

Yeah the moto accident really sucked and was super scary but Im super duper thankful that I didn't come out worse. Just had a broken hand and got knocked out on impact. I got a a brand new 09 GSXR 600 out of ins. but honestly I really dont ride all that often anymore. I get out and about with my sister on her ninja 250 and one of my GFs on her yamaha R6 every once in a blue moon. But that is about it. But its paid for so its not bothering me to sit till when I'm feeling like riding at least its there for me to do so.

And no problem anytime!

As an owner of a FD3S..... Stay away, they are a headache, I honestly never ever drive mine.

And when it comes to past vehicles, shit I'm not sure this forum has enough space for me to list everything.

I'm 28 years of age, and I've owned more than 40 vehicles now. I rarely keep a car for more than 1 year and when I get the vehicle I never drive it. I always find myself driving a daily beater, but that's most mechanics, when you do it for a living you always drive the crap car the most.

That is a nice list above though. I bet you had a field day with the Merc, was factory trained at Bobby Rahal Mercedes in Pittsburgh and I learned to MEGALOATHE those cars, from a repair stand point that is lol.

I can't help but love the lil rotary engine though. I've got experience with them and know all about their temperamental ways. Just want the FD body to wrap around one. My first rx7 is what really sealed the deal on my automotive passions so I'd just like to fulfill a dream and own/build an FD eventually.

The merc was nice by all means but oh my damn at the cost of doing anything to it! Not to mention availability :-( It just didn't feel like a sports car with 300 rwhp should have imo. Think he was just a lil to lux for me. Traded him for my STI ;-) and am once again a happy gear head girl!

Thats a heck of a list.

Growing up my dad had one of those RX-7s. My sister and I didnt know anything about cars at like 4 years old, but we called it "The Vroom-Vroom Car"!

Once you get to a certain power level in the 13b it becomes a massive headache. Now considering mine is a 3 rotor swap twin turbo, and it puts down over 500, I break shit constantly, I piss off the locals because it's straight pipe no mufflers, and everyone who knows rotary engines knows they love high high high RPM's can do the math haha. If the parts weren't so damn expensive, I'd drive it more, mess with it more and drive it harder more often I think. But I get sick of fixing things time and time again, ESPECIALLY when you do it for a living, you just wanna go home drink a few beers, watch some tv, relax and possibly contemplate playing with nuts. No particular order haha. But when you own a heavily modded RX-7 and it was some what of a daily, you find yourself looking under the hood on the daily.

Let's not even mention it has the fuel consumption of a Humvee

But when it does run, the weather is nice, and the roads are open, it's definitely fun, just gotta keep an eye out for the one time. The exhaust is just slightly loud

I completely agree on that with any vehicle once you get over a certain power and especially the rotary. I don't want mine to be quite that heavily modded. Just a nice street port to have a lil fun with that I can still daily.
