A-Pillar gauge pod vs. Clock gauge pod

i have an 07 STi and i cant decide between an A-Pillar gauge pod vs. Clock gauge pod. i like the look of the A-Pillar pod but idk if i want them that close to my face. anyone have either of these and could share thoughts and pictures if possible? pros and cons to each?

I'm not a fan of the A-pillar just because I don't want every toolbag on the highway trying to race me. I've driven my buddy's Talon with A-pillar gauges and they aren't too "in your face" but they did obstruct your view on occasion in his Talon. Not sure if it would be the same in a GD. I would recommend 60mm gauges if you're getting the clock pod though. Also, what gauges are you planning on? The SMY pod is an excellent choice as well but only fits 52mm gauges. I'm getting that for my boost and Wideband for now.

i was planning on getting boost, oil pressure, AFR. im starting to lean towards the clock pod as well but i found someone selling the A-pillar pod with gauges for about 120. glowshift gauges tho i would replace them so idk if its worth even buying the whole thing if im gunna replace the gauges. probably not

I would say not worth it. Those a-pillar pods can be had for cheaply enough and I don't think there is much resale value on Glowshift considering how cheap they are to buy new. There are actually a good number of subtle mounting solutions for GDs if you want to keep thing clean and semi hidden. AVO makes a pod that tucks up next to your a-pillar against the windshield and sits on the dash, Subtle Solutions makes an ash tray delete for 05-07 GDs that holds two gauges, plus a few more options. I would definitely recommend checking out all you options. For reference:

i actually like that pod under the climate controls but i use me cig lighter too much to charge my phone to get rid of it. looks like clock pod it is. you were a big help man i appreciate it

For the STi, I'd vote clock pod as well. I dont recall if hawkeyes had a pillar airbag or not, that would be unsafe if a pillar was there.
