Default PM Notifications

Suggestion:
Enable PM notifications (Email and Pop-Up) by default for new members.

Rationale:
Most forums have notifications enabled. Many users, including myself, didnt realize that it would have to be enabled manually after registering. Several time i've PMed a newer member and they respond days/weeks/months later saying "sorry, i didnt realize I had a message!"

Is this something that can be enabled automatically? I had to go in and activate that option manually... JJ?

Guys there is no way to make this a set setting. I also have checked into this, and everyone's notification does flash when they get a message. I did a mod for that. Only thing I can do is make a stickie under FAQ.
