AFR - Air Fuel Ratio
AP - AccessPort
An after market engine management system that utilizes the stock ECU. This is known as a re-flash solution where you modify the programing via a laptop with special software and then flash the new programming to the stock ECU via this device. Links to related material:

AVCS - Active Valve Control System
Valve timing system utilizing oil pressure to fill a chamber with in a rotating assembly that attaches to the end of the cam. The cam itself is attached to a rotor inside the chamber. As the chamber fills with oil the rotor is forced to rotate to an advanced state. The oil flow is controlled by a solenoid activated by a pulsed signal that is controlled by the ECU. The higher the duty cycle, the greater the advance.

CL - Closed Loop
Refers to the Closed Loop operation of the engine. In Closed Loop operation the ECU is monitoring the AFR sensor and making adjustments to fuel based on that reading.
ECT - Engine Coolant Temp
ECU - Engine Control Unit
This is the brains of the engine. This computer reads input from various sensors and uses that information to control fuel spark and boost.
EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation
Refers to either a physical EGR valve on an engine used to recirculate exhaust gases back to the intake to be re-burned during light load and cruise RPM to help reduce emissions. Also refers to vehicles that employ Valve Timing to achieve the same goal through valve overlap.
EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature
DAM - Dynamic Advance Multiplier
A term used by AcessTuner Race and the Access port. This is a parameter that the ECU uses to apply more or less advance to the primary ignition table. It is referenced by the ignition advance table. The advance defined in your ignition advance table is multiplied by DAM and then added to the primary ignition. The final result is your total ignition advance plus any other compensations.
DCCD - Driver Control Center Differential
The planetary center differential in the wrx sti splits engine torque in variable ratios between the front and rear wheels. It also gives the driver a choice – leave ratio choice to computers or set it yourself (Text copied from Paul C's writeup).

IAM - Ignition Advance Multiplier
Same as DAM only an acronym used by RomRaider
IAT - Intake Air Temp
This usually refers to one of the ECU inputs for Air Intake Temperature and is measured at the intake. More specifically there is a thermocouple resistor located in the MAF sensor assembly and is considered part of the MAF sensor.
IDC - Injector Duty Cycle

IPW - Injector Pulse Width
This is a pulsed signal that is calculated by the ECU and ultimately supplied to the injector to deliver the required amount of fuel to the engine. The ECU determines the amount of fuel to be delivered by shortening or lengthening the pulse. This is the time the injector is open while delivering fuel. This is not to be confused with IDC. IDC has nothing to do with how much fuel is delivered.

MAF - Mass Air Flow
Refers to the sensor typically located in the intake just after the air filter. The sensor is responsible for measuring the mass of air entering the engine and is measured as weight of air over time = flow In this case, g/s or grams per second = flow
MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure
Refers to the sensor typically located in the intake manifold or throttle body and is responsible for measuring the manifold pressure in psi plus atmospheric pressure. So if your manifold pressure is 7psi, the reading at the sensor will be 7psi plus 14.7psi atmosphere for a total of 21.7psi.
MRP - Manifold Relative Pressure
This is related to MAP but the difference is that this reading is pressure that is relative to the manifold only where by 0psi of Manifold Relative Pressure is 14.7psi of Manifold Absolute Pressure.

OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer
OL - Open Loop
Refers to the open loop operation of the engine. In Open Loop the ecu does not take into consideration input from the O2 sensor nor does it make corrections based on the O2 sensor. In Open Loop the ECU uses the MAF sensor combined with a look up table to calculate the required amount of fuel.
PCV - Positive Crankcase Ventilation

RR - RomRaider
Similar to the AccessPort, RomRaider is a software re-flash solution where you modify programming via a lap top using the RomRaider software and then flash it to the car utilizing the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 interface. The software is free but you must purchase the OpenPort. Links to related material:

TGV - Tumbler Generator Valve
Refers to the section of runners between the intake manifold and the head, this device is used to divert air around the injector outlet to aid in the atomization and mixing of fuel and air by creating an air tumbling effect. The advantage to this is a much cleaner burn and smoother operation at idle and very light load and rpm. With this comes some sacrifice to high speed flow. When people refer to TGV deletes the are referring to the removal of the butterfly valves inside this device to improve top end flow and overall drivability.
