What has happened to the Subaru Community?

Why is it people feel the need to bash one another? Does it make you feel all good inside? Our thoughts are one of two things. One you hate yourself, or two you truly hate people. See what we don't understand is if you have a love for all things Subaru then why not help make the community a better place. We sometimes wish social media was never born. The reason why is internet keyboard warriors. They won't say it to your face, but online they live to hurt people who don't conform to their standards of living. Last time we checked God made each of us all different and to attack people and call them names like stupid or dumb or why did you do that instead of helping them is a real issue.

Over the course of the last 6 years, we've only been in a hand full of Facebook groups/pages because of all the hate that belongs to them. One person asks a question that someone thinks they should know the answer then all hell breaks out attacking that person. Really? The person who is getting attacked just asked a question and someone who knew the answer had to be a tuff guy and call them dumb, stupid or tell them to go search. Thanks for helping mankind friend. This has become a real issue across the board, on the whole, all car scenes in general and it's sad we as humans can't be nicer to each other.

Here at igotasti, we've never had that happen one time because we don't let it. We don't let the haters in! We welcome each person no matter what race, religion, or what they drive. As long as they have a passion about Subaru then that's all we care about. Do yourself a favor and don't let the hate discourage your love for Subaru. Last time we check Subaru's theme is (Love it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru, and Share The Love) and that is what we do here daily. We help people with their questions. We direct them to Vendors who are honest and eager to earn their business. We just share the love.

Now we know some people will laugh at this and that's ok. We're not here to please everyone. We just want to spread the word that there are communities out there that don't let the drama and hate in. So do yourself a favor and join one and see what a real Subaru community is about.

Please share this with your friends.

Thank you,

"Keyboard Warrior
Syllabification: key?board war?ri?or
noun, informal

A person who makes abusive or aggressive posts on the Internet, typically one who conceals their true identity"

It's really just something we see online because people on the internet CAN hide behind a user name. They're not held accountable (outside of being banned or kicked) for their actions, so they can hate and yell and scream all they want. It's not just Subaru, either. It's literally made it's way into every facet of the internet. Whether it's FaceTube or YouBook or some forum/message board, it's all over the place and it's unfortunately unavoidable for the most part. I'm glad this forum seems to dodge that bullet that ruins so many communities... but there's still a bright side to it. This kind of attitude really only exists online.

Think about it. If you go on any Forum for Subarus, you'll see people getting flamed, trolled, and booted left right and center. It's a combination of know-nothings and know-it-alls that make for an explosive combination online. "hey guize I love subaruuuuu and mine is a legacy amd I want to make it a sti" and it's pretty much flaimbait from there. However, if you have a clueless guy show up to a Subaru meet and actually talk to people, reactions are generally more rational and helpful. So the actual physical community of owners is still awesome... but the online representation of it is generally a polar opposite. This place is an exception.

Nah man.. this is just human nature. People can't live with what they have.. they have to be in everyone else's business, too. Blame the politically correct crowd for convincing people that "your" way is the only way, and everyone else is evil and needs to be vilified for daring to have a different opinion.

AWD_Army happened. Seriously man... That group has changed things about the whole Subaru community.

Also, it's a psychological fact that the less information people have to give out about themselves, the more likely they are to be mean-spirited. I will always support sites like this who promote such a love in the community!

Great article! On point friend.

Yep, the group I'm in here in the PNW. RainCitySubies tries to keep the community clean, it does become harder as it grows but for the most part were doing well and wish to keep it that way.
Not only building a great community with Subaru enthusiasts, but a family and pet friendly group too!
