Tyre width problem on my98 wrx

Hello i am new to the site and looking for some information I have a 98 scoobie wrx with 215-35-18 tyres on and they need replacing can I go to 225-40-18s without doing any arch modifications

Thanks I think I will stay on 215-35-18s had a good look in the inner arches and there is not alot of clearance thanks for the information keep up the good work:tup:

What is the stock sizing for a 98 wrx? Is there a particular reason you were wanting to go to a different size?

A typical rule of thumb is to not go more than 3% higher in terms of comparing stock and new tire size height.

215 45 17 is the standard size I got a good deal on the 18s that I have now but I am going to have to replace the tyres soon but I have a mate that as got four brand new Yokohama prada 225 45 18s
