So my Greddy Turbo Timer died and is debating wither or not to get a new one. Turbo timer are cheap but I always wonder are they necessary? I see the point of having one but does my car really have to stay idle for 8-10mins by me driving to my nearest gas station which is like less then mile. What do you guys think?

A water cooled turbo CHRA runs at lower temps than those with out. Thanks to this the oil stays way bellow the cooking threshold and you do not need to give it time to cool down. Have in mind that the water will keep circulating in the turbo while the car is turned off due to temperature differences in the turbo reservoir and the turbo itself.

In the other hand If you beat the crap out of it I always give it about 1 min. Understand that when I mean "beating the crap out of it" is being 5 to 10 min on constant WOT or boost conditions like when you are doing autox or running from the law.

I would include more detail but I'm drunk atm... :tard:
