Hi my Sean is and I've had my stock '04 WRX since 4/08, I bought it right out and never did anything with it as far as mods except for a Kenwood sound and navigation. Since I got her I put a crap load of miles on her I've been to Colorado, Michigan, New Hampshire, Just to name a few plus being a ski and snowboard instructor the things seen a lot of snow. So once 2011 rolled around Subaru Hell fell upon me..... I'll do my best to list the events

First I slid off the road in the snow with bad tires and hit a tree at like 2 miles an hour or up the side fender had to get it fixed $$$

Then shortly after that the clutch finally went at like 115,000. Had to get it fixed this is going into February now $$$$

It's on Easter Sunday I got my father in the car and we're driving on highway 78 and the motor blew up, left us stranded. This was a sad day.... So she needed to go to sleep for some time.. You would think the stories over but it's not.

So my living situation requires two cars and I was in the market for a new one especially now that mine was down. Wanted to find myself a Baja and I know they hold their value so I started shopping online and looking around. I found this one up in western New York was on a salvage title('04 turbo), but the salvage didn't occurred until 20,000 miles it was already 85k and seem like it was a good deal. Except for one thing they just replaced the turbo and they said it had a 12 month warranty on it so that was one of the selling points to me. I should've known better that a failed turbos are a ticking time bomb but I didn't. Needless to say I bought the car and I was driving in about 400 miles away to Michigan to see family and the turbo went, the new one. I was forced to drive the car in the condition it was in 1500 more miles home.

I need to get the thing fixed locally. Turns out Subaru doesn't honor any warranty parts that are put in a salvage vehicle So that turned into a huge battle with the dealership where I got the car. Needless to say they send a new turbo and paid for some of the labor. I still had to pay $$$

Then one day in September the motor decided to eat itself. This also was a very very bad day

So what do you do now? I can get rid of it and take a huge loss or I can just fix it and pay the money that would've paid if it was Not on the salvage. So i fix it. So I had Cherryhill Subaru put a short block in for me. You would think being right across the street from super USA they would probably be the best dealership in the area right. Wrong they suck them give a shit about you or anything is when your money. Needless to say they took me for a ride on the job It was big money. $$$$

Today? today the Baja is fine I love the thing you know it's great I'm not disenchanted in anyway. I want to put a lift on it. But I'm not here to talk about that I'm here to talk about the STI swap right?

So I need to have some time to get the money back together so I can do the swap idea. Here's some pics of the car before the build ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352392328.348063.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1352392358.610207.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1352392382.570777.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1352392441.161853.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1352392483.308304.jpg

Sorry for not getting back to this thread sooner....

It's going to be a full swap except for the seats Because it's still my everyday driver and I can still be a dirty boy. It's still not quite ready to take home a few more things do, they want to put some miles on it before they give it up To ensure everything is working okay. I'm going up there today to hear it run so stay tuned..

Here are some more pics of the job....

The swap is just about complete. Only thing left to do is change passenger side front strut the fact that came in damaged on donor car where it was hit. And yes testing they want to put a some miles on it to sure that things are in order before I pick up the car.
