i plan on getting one in the near future as i have found a bit of oil in on of my charge pipes coming off the turbo (but nowhere else just yet).

I ordered an ixizConcept air oil separator and crank case vent. It will be about two weeks before it comes because the day before I ordered a distributer called and ordered all he had in stock.

Interested to see how the AOS performs, and the case vent. I was looking at those yesterday over the crawford performance AOS. The ixiz one looks like an external hard drive...

Yup. It will be painted black and tucked away. Just like everything else in my ninja build. Or I could claim its the hard drive to the car PC.

That would be pretty funny. It definitely isnt an inconspicuos item in the engine bay. Im stoked to see your (ninja) monster of a car build.

To the OP, since i havent really helped you so far:

IXIZCONCEPTS and Crawford performance are well know manufacturers of Air Oil Seperators. I think Grimmspeed has something of the sort as well...

^ Yeah, learnt that lesson already... unholy mess. It's not in the easiest position to empty either (or at least get a cannister underneath it).

Hmm. That one looks nice (especially the price) but I think im gonna go Fuji's route with IXIZ. Vents back into the system, no draining, cheaper than the crawford.

Just a thought hear... Not sure you would want it to go back into the system at all. In some cases like running E85 in the winter time, there is an awful lot of moisture that winds up as blowby and the catch cans condense and separate it well enough.

You definitely don't want this water finding it's way back into the engine. I pull two cups of water form my catch cans every two to three weeks.

Good to know! Just the sos then.
BAD: do you empty yours or vent it? If you empty it, how often and how much is caught?

what the WHAT?

I have the IXIZ unit. Its awesome looking and does the job well.

Pics please if you dont mind sir
George is 100% correct. E85 = moisture. My recent Amsoil Oil Analysis I need to put up to show everyone some useful information.

i will be looking out for that post

Because E85, and even petroleum contain moisture, as part of the combustion process some of this moisture makes its way past the rings as blowby. That moisture condenses in the catch can instead of being recirculated back into the motor.
