Oil Catch Tank Full?

Hey guys,

So as some of you may know, I just purchased a 2000 Impreza 2.5rs with an 06 WRX engine (close enough to an STi, right ;) haha) and I just realized the oil catch can is basically full and when I actually check the dipstick, the oil level is right under E.

I am wondering if I need to put oil back into my engine or if the "catch" tank would be setup to circulate oil. (idk how it'd work but I just want to make sure)

I know this sounds like a common sense question but I don't want to run the engine dry based on an assumption.

Thanks for any help!

That catch can doesn't look like the kind that drains back. Besides if it was it wouldn't be full. Definitely go ahead and fill your engine oil to the proper level. Rule of thumb... every time you fill up with gas check your oil. Please make this a habit and you will avoid problem later.

Good Luck!
