I need a small battery, tray and all hook ups! Can anyone help point me in the right direction. I need to get it last night!

Something like this: http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/AMS-Subaru-WRX/STI-Small-battery-kit.html

Also, I just did some quick googling and apparently if you remove the stock tray there are holes in the sheet metal that work well with the J-hooks. Some people say to get smaller hooks. I have no personal experience--just passing along some hearsay. Looking at the kit above, it looks like the internetters might be right.

Something you should keep in mind is if you plan on racing, most tech people will fail you if your battery has J hooks for hold downs.

Thanks for the information.

I also don't see how they could disqualify you if the battery is tight and not moving.

AnorexicSTI on iwsti attached his battery with industrial velcro. I dunno if i'd be ballsy enough to do that at a track day, and something like that might very well fail a tech inspection. Just throwing that out there.

I'm going with the AMS battery kit. They give it to you all, plus battery lays down flat and all they check to see is that the battery is tight and not moving.

I've been thinking of doing a lightweight battery but I'm worried about cold starts. In PA you're almost certainly colder than I am. I dont know how many more frigid days you'll have but maybe next year! So yeah, dont forget to do a long-term update!

My 04 STi only has 11,520 miles and never seen bad weather. Only comes out for nice weather. :)

Darn. That's the problem. MOST of the "reviews" i've seen are for fair weather driving. Mine is my only car and I don't want to compromise DD reliability. What are you planning on doing for extended down-time for the car, like next winter? Trickle charger? Totally disconnect the battery?

Heated garage and trickle charger.
