Throttle Position Sensor

Either my tps is going bad or it's got got carbon build up and needs to be cleaned. I'm thinking of just buying a new one. So here's my question; since our ECUs are so fussy should I buy one from SOA or just to a generic parts store?

Hooked it up to a shop computer and it's not operating as fast as should be and not opening up as much.

I think you need to go with the one from SOA. I didn't even think you could get that over the couter but if they have a direct replacement then go for it.

Pulled off the TPS and it looked good, but the throttle is still lagging so I guess the electronics in the sensor failed.

I do not buy from Auto Zone. I either go to Advance, O'Reillys or the stealership. Look up the e-manual and if you have access to a multimeter, check the output against what the manual states the norm is first.
