heres a request for a thread showing what ewg spring to pair with target boost. for example spring x lbs= x psi target boost.

That is almost an impossible question to answer because the spring rates are specific to the waste gate and each manufacturer is different. Also that is not really how you should be defining the waste gate opening pressure. Your target boost is determined by the controller you chose to use. The waste gate just sets the minimum output pressure of the turbo and the controller sets the top limit by modifying how the waste gate opens by limiting pressure to the actuator.

There are some strategies that can be use and which one you use is totally dependent on your performance goals. Most applications use the lowest rate to set the fail safe level of boost in the event the controller fails or the ECU commands it.

as a matter of fact I did do it just for the sound :tard:. so tial 44mm mvr, grimmspeed ebcs. target boost 19-20 psi tapering to 16. what range of springs would you suggest. i'm thinking one bar.

your not understanding at all what people are saying to you about the springs...pay a little more attention and reread what was written....

That could be one way to look at it. But it would probably be prudent to not use that strategy. It compromises the safety factor. If you are using the waste gate spring pressure in conjunction with a boost controller, you can set the spring pressure as low as you can for fail safe, and the boost controller will be the device that determines boost characteristics.

If you want a quick and simple solution, then use the lowest spring pressure possible coupled with a manual boost controller. Let the boost controller set the target pressure. It is actually much less complicated than swapping springs because all you have to do to set boost is turn a knob.
