Raising seat height, aftermarket

So I just installed a sparco r505 seat in my Sti, and it's wonderful.

However, the drop in height is way too much for me. I can't barely see the hood now. I actually like the height of the stock ones, so...

I'm considering having two pieces of angle iron welded together to form a box tube. This can be bolted in between the sliders and bracket. One under each slider. If like to raise it atleast 1.5"

Any thought?

Although I like the idea of using poly because of it's nvh dampening, I don't really trust it's strength when using 2"s o it as a spacer.

So I'm going to pick up 4 pieces of 15" long by 2" square aluminum box tubing. I'll use one under each slider.

Should do the trick.

I wish my limited seat was a little lower , I hate being 6 ft 1 with a sun roof in a 07 lol
