Turbo problems

Ok I have a 04 sti and I'm not sure what's wrong. When I get on it and the turbo starts to spool it sounds like a loud rush of air now rather than when I got the car

Do you still get power/boost?
Have you done any maintenance/mods recently?

No mods but seems to be boosting fine it's just louder than usual which worries me

Did the intake silencer fall off of the filter box...?

Your description sounds like a boost leak.

This gets my vote.

You need a boost leak test. That would be the first thing I do. If you know how to log with a wide band, a log can reveal this condition in most cases.

^ That would be my next guess.

If you have a Cobb AP, or gauges that log/replay their sweeps, you may
be able to tell that way. If you know what your target boost is supposed
to be, it might be obvious when you review your boost pressure numbers.
