cleaning my oil pump

Do I have to do anything special when taking the screws out of the back of the pump? They are so tight currently that I think I will strip them. Or can it be cleaned sufficiently without taking that off?

Well to be honest with you I wouldn't use either of those pumps. They have seen five blown motors now and I just wouldn't trust them. I would just spend the $100 on a new one just for peace of mind. If you do use them please make sure it is with in spec and shim it as needed. :tup:

I would replace the oil pump on each engine build. Its just another safety measure to take, just in case.

It's sad how this works like this, but in the end you know it will be worth it!
