Monitoring knock

Are the only two ways to monitor knock via Cobb AP and Tactrix openport 2.0?
Or is there a way to get it on the Torque app? I see another add on install but I have no idea how to get it to work on torque. Because I do have a Bluetooth OBDII ELM 327

Oh and using these methods, do any of them leave a footprint behind? I figure the AP would because its installing itself? Or only when you flash a map on? I technically would like to maintain an honest unflashed ecu for warranty purposes. Just want to know if my new ride is being healthy is all :)

It will not work on the torque app. The PID for the knock parameter on a Subaru is not a standard OBD2 PID and I believe torque only views the standard PID used by the ELM327

If you are simply monitoring parameters, the Tactrix and RomRiader is probably your best choice. No footprint if you are just reading data.

Cool beans, so get a tactrix 2.0 from the main site or do we have anyone in particular that sells the adapter?
http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?pa...n=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53&vmcchk=1&Itemid=53

On a side note, is there anything out there maybe similar to the evoscan setup/tablet? http://www.evoscan.com/android-evox...pc-diagnostic-interfaces/evodroid7--evoscan-7

It be nice to get everything on a small screen, smallest computer I have is just a chromebook but I think you would need to go through loops to get it to work. "17 alienware would be overkill lols.

From Tactrix is the best option. I don't even know if you can buy it elsewhere.

Nothing like that for Subaru specifically but EVOscan also logs Subaru, so it warrants some investigation. You could always purchase EVOscan for windows and just have a windows tablet of your choice plus the Tactrix 2.0. I think that setup will do what you want.

If you want a cheaper tactrix ive seen them about $100-120 on nasioc in used condition. Other than that its brand new.

The below options will work on any car Stock or tuned(Open Source or EcuTek)

There is 2 cheap options available to log the car:
Mobile phone/Tablet(Requirement)
Andriod Mobile phone/tablet
BtSsm App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.btssm) (10USD)
Option#1:BtSsm-K Bluetooth adapter for OBD K-line (http://www.btssm.com/) (100USD)
Option#2 VAG-COM KKL Cable (available on Amazon and Ebay) (10USD - 20USD) Requires ?USB-OTG Cable which costs 10USD

Any Laptop or Windows Tablet
Microsoft Windows OS (Vista, 7, 8 or 10) (tested on all) / Linux (all Distros are supported but I prefer Debian or Ubtunu (Tested)
Romraider Logger (http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/Download)
VAG-COM KKL Cable (available on Amazon and Ebay) 10USD-20USD

There is one more option which I am not discussing because its expensive which is the EcuTek

The Vagcom cable works with our cars?!?!

If so, then whats the difference between the vagcom cable and tactrix? Clearly there must be a difference if theres a $160 price difference.

Alin, vagcom cables cannot flash. It only logs and display learning view. I am using it to for logging. Using the BtSsm App and Romraider.

Aha! Then that is an ideal way to go with a factory stock car! :ty:

Hmm can't I just use my bluetooth OBDII connector with that app? So therefore I'll only need to spend $15? (It's not showing $10)
Support stops at 2013 cars, but I would figure it would work. Maybe lols.

Yeah it will work. The developer support is super. He will add support for any car suporrts SSM. Normal Bluetooth ELM327 does not support SSM it will not monitor knock.

I am using Tapatalk through mobile phone. So its a different view.
The cable is correct. You need EcuFlash installed and Java 32-bit and Romraider with the correct logger definitions on your laptop.

Oh yea opps. 2015 STi. Even though I have tapatalk I still find myself on the browser instead on my phone.
Guess I need the definitions. Hope to have the cable by next week. Maybe I'll put in the order tomorrow.
