Exactly! I'm sick of how it screams past 70mph on the freeway.

I've often dreamt of a close ratio 6-speed, like JDM ratios for example, with the addition of a long, lonnnng 7th gear for the highway. Something like 2500rpms at 80mph.

I always grab for a 7th gear when I'm not paying attention. I'm used to my Dmax and 911 sitting at a low rpm @ 80mph

Well SHTF with this build. It dropped a sleeve, ate up the cams, and the buckets were chewed up. That caused a new page to begin for the car.

To replace the block that was destroyed I went with an Outfront V4 closed deck, Manley turbo tuff rods, CP pistons, 1/2" headstuds, and JE proseal headgaskets to round out the short block.

Is that gold foil on the underside of the hood? Doesn't that just reflect enginebay heat and keep the engine hotter?

The gold is to prevent the CF from overheating

Also the hood has many heat extractors so heat shouldn't be a problem with it.

Got it back out for more brake in miles. I can't wait to turn it up. It's weird driving a 700whp + setup with 0 boost and a 4k rpm rev limiter. Hopefully I'll have the 1000 miles on it by the end of the weekend.

It's crazy how I used to think my car was fast with a bolt on Cobb Stage 2 kit, now it's becoming a monster.

Here's where it broke down October of 2014. Just now I'm getting it running right after that. Burnt up valves, broken wastegate, and destroyed front axle took it down. I've been missing it.
